"You know, when you're looked after there can be more things to stress you out than if you were still at home. It took me a long time to get my head down and get on with my course work. I had so much on my mind, like am I going back home, are they going to allow me to stay with my mate and what do I tell every one at school about where I was living.
When I fell out with the foster carers and I had to move, that just did it for me. For about three months I couldn't be bothered. Then one day something just clicked. I got my finger out and got on with it. I sat nine GCSE's. Even I was a bit surprised with my results.
What really helped me was my carers and my teachers kept telling me that I could do it. All I can say is hang on in there, and look for someone who can help you believe in yourself".
