Reviews

The first thing you need to know about Reviews is that love them or hate them they have to held. The law says that all social services must hold reviews for all young people that they look after.

Reviews meetings must be held regularly to make sure that your care plan is giving you the best opporunities and care possible and to make sure that the tasks listed in the Care Plan are being carried out. A Review will discuss what has happened since the last Review and will decide whether your Care Plan that was agreed at the last Review needs to be changed.

Your Review will be chaired by an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO for short, you can visit the Jargon page to find the meaning of some of these words) who makes sure that everyone at the meeting has a say in a fair way, especially you.

Before the Review you will be given a chance to meet with the IRO in private to talk about anything you would like to address. This is a good opportunity for you to talk about any concerns that you might have about your review.

The Review will discuss what has happened since the last Review and will decide whether your Care Plan that was agreed at the last Review needs to be changed. If you are in the 16+ Team you might have a Pathway Plan this will also be discussed at your review to make sure that you are in agreement with what has been written.
