Supported Accommodation
If you choose supported accommodation then you will have your own place, which could be a bedsit, flat or house it means having to pay for your rent and bills. We have a number of housing associations or private organisations that offer supported accommodation for young people leaving care. Your social worker could refer you to one of these where you could be offered a room in a house sharing with perhaps two or three other young people, a bed-sit or a flat.
You will receive support in relation to your independent living skills from one of the housing support officers. You will also receive financial help from your setting up home allowance. to purchase essential items to move in, like bedding, towels, pots and pans etc.
