Chairing Your Own Review
During the last part of 2008 and through 2009, a number of young people have chaired their own Reviews and Pathway Plans. You will get support to do this from the Independent Reviewing Officer and your social worker; the IRO will meet with you beforehand to plan this carefully with you and you can ask for additional support at the meeting from an Advocate. Talk with your social worker about this.
There is no minimum age for chairing your review; it is about how you feel about this yourself. Young people who have chaired have felt much more in control of the meeting and what is talked about. Once they have chaired, they have all been keen to do it next time.
Young people have made a DVD about chairing their reviews. Please contact 8 545 3710 for further details
