Moving School

All young people face a change of school, at the end of year 6, when they move to secondary school.  The earlier you start to find out about the secondary schools in your area, the more prepared you will be when it is time to make school applications.

Ask your carers, teachers and friends to support you and make sure that you visit as many schools as possible to get an idea of where you would like to go.

Don't Forget

Your teachers, social worker, family, foster carers or key worker can help if you have any worries about your new school.

Did You Know

There will be a special teacher, know as the designated teacher, who supports children in care at your school.  This teacher works with you, the school, your social worker and carer to make sure you get the help you need.
