Eligible & relevant young people and financial support
16&17yrs.

If you have to support yourself in your own accommodation and you are not working, or entitled to benefits, or receiving any other from of income, you will receive financial assistance in the following way:

Personal Allowance £46.19 per week to cover living cost, travel clothing etc.

Accommodation cost The 16+ team will meet the cost of your placement, however, you may need to pay a small service charge.

Birthday allowance
16th ,17th & 21st £50.
18th £100.
19th & 20th £25.00.

Festival allowance
£50.00. Paid once either at Christmas, Diwali, or Eid. Only up to 18yrs.

If you are in full time education or training (more than 16 hours per week) you will receive additional financial support towards the cost of your lunch and to purchase course materials.

Linked to education you can also receive payments towards educational trips and outings, also towards specialist clothing.

An assessment will be carried out by your social worker, and your needs stated in your Pathway Plan.

You must attend your course for at least 80% of the time or you will lose your entitlement to these payments.
